Twas a Terrorific Escapade

When I hear the word sembreak, relaxation and leisure comes into my mind. But this time it is pressure and exasperation. I spent the sembreak with a blast, it may have been tiresome but it is the best one yet. We represented the school in the Raniag Festival which was a celebration for the Halloween. We came to school to practice the waves and moves which were related to the supernaturals like zombies. We aimed a presentation which will woo and the same time scare the audiences and the judges. Even though there were hustles and difficulties, we pulled out great solutions and worked things out. It was fun to come up with a street dancing and a showdown for only 2 and a half days. Of course it was through the great cooperation and brilliant minds of the participants and teachers. When it was already time for the competition, we dressed up and make- up like zombies. It was a great experience. And even though we did not win in the competition, we are still proud that we represented the school and it is not all about the prize and honor, but it is the great experience that truly counts. I believe that we can make the most of our sembreak by joining such enjoyable activities. It is my last sembreak in high school and I surely made the most of it. Remember, time is running fast let us enjoy every moment.

2nd Quarter Reflection

Ber months have now come and I could already smell the breeze of Christmas air. Another quarter has again passed and another will come. It has been great and challenging to explore the vast cyberworld.

I could say that it was difficult for me to cope with the subject especially that I was most of the time out of my class. It was a great obstacle to learn the lessons which where discussed in my absence. We did some exercises about the Hypertext Mark Up Language. Here we have learned the ways on how to edit html documents using editors such as the Notepad. Now I know how to make the texts in the web page bold, italic, underlined, center aligned, left, right and etc. The web has always amazed me, and now I know the magic of it. But it is not magic, it is knowledge and skill. I am gratified that our teacher has introduced these lessons patiently. I believe that these learnings are of great significance in our daily lives.

I think that this quarter is really hectic but enjoyable. I will do my best again next grading period so that I could maintain or get a higher grade.

Breaking Barriers Through

English is the UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE.

So why is it called the universal language? It's because whatever part you are in the world, English is still familiar and widely known. Above all the languages, it is the most commonly used. It is our key to communication and understanding, it is our number one tool in achieving the progress that we have always been dreaming of. It is our only way to speak to world and be heard. But first we must know and let ourselves be familiar with this language.

Imagine if you were in another country and you do not know how to speak in English, what will happen to you? Its either you will be lost or you might be tricked and they would get the best out of you, unguarded. With English you can explore the world and it's components. With English you can have better camaraderie with people from around the globe. With English you can reach greater heights.

Let us ignite our knowledge in English to those who are less fortunate and help them be literate. Because if all of us will be English proficient, I'm sure that progress is at hand.

My Teacher, My Hero

"Education is painful, continual and difficult thing to be done in kindness, by watching, by warning, by praise but above all, by example."

When I first stepped on the grounds of my Alma mater, I was nervous, I was uncomfortable. I know it is quite normal for a neophyte's first day of school. I was also wondering what would my teachers be. Will they be kind? Will they be friendly and approachable? Will they inspire me to be the best that I can be? Those questions were answered. And now, I am what I am today, because of what they have done yesterday.

Back then, I was a shy type, never really cared about what's happening outside the classroom. I just focused on what was in and just went on with the flow. But things changed when I became the valedictorian of the Regular Class. I was pushed by my teachers, they motivated me to do my best in the academics to stay on top and do what I can do in the co-curricular part of the school. I dreamed to be a part of the school's politics and I could still remember several teachers who have said that someday, I will be the Student Government President of ISNHS, I believed them and did everything so that I could achieve that position. Their words of encouragement has made me accumulate all my skills and potentials and materialized my dream. Then again, when I was frequently going out of my classes to attend some activities and contests, one of my teachers told us that learning is not confined in the four walls of the classroom, but indeed there are more to learn which are of greater significance than the learnings we could acquire in the textbooks.

My teachers have definitely lighted my way and led me to a bright future. You my dear mentors have made me believed that I should break out of my shell, face the world and follow the vast horizons where I can pick a bunch of wisdom. You have definitely changed my life. You are indeed my heroes.

FILIPINNOVATION: THE WAY FORWARD

Ingenuity and creativity is the foundation for a better country and a better world.

Innovation makes us develop the simple things that we have today. It opens doors for all of us to join in the race of great economies. Back in the old days, in the time of our ancestors, people were contented with a simple life, using simple things in their daily routines and daily work. But as time goes by, the planet has already been dominated with technologies which make our work much faster and easier. Through these technological advancements we are now experiencing the luxuries of life. As a science clubber, I can do many great things but simple ways to make our country keep moving forward. Remember, there are no small steps, only big differences. In doing investigatory projects we are already contributing a lot for the development of science and technology in our country.

What we can do is to ignite the passion of innovation into the hearts of every young minds so that they may have the sense of determination and devotion in making new things.

Sa Pangangalaga ng wika at Kalikasan, Wagas na Pagmamahal Kailangan

To be able to successfully care and preserve our language and environment, what we need is full interest and love.

In everything that we do, we need to have the passion because if we don't have this, what we are aiming for will never never be achieved. Truth is, compassion should be present in caring for our own language and the environment. Take for instance, a person who is never interested in the Filipino language will never be understand and learn it. And a person who never loved nature doesn't mind destroying and neglecting it. Because of the influence of foreign media on us, our fluency and efficiency is greatly affected and in our environment, because of technological advancement we tend to neglect the current state of nature.

So everybody should love our nature and preserve our own language these are our own precious things which we still have right now and if we lose them, we can never get them back. Start now and everuthing will turn out fine.

"Sa Pagkaing Tama at Sapat, Wastong Timbang ni Baby ang Katapat."

Healthy living starts with the proper consumption of food.

Eating healthy food can greatly affect the growth and development of the baby. Start it when the baby is still in the mothers womb. When a mother, while still pregnant, eats the proper and right amount of food, the baby will be born with the right weight and no deficiencies. But if she takes in insufficient or over amount of food, the baby will be born malnourished. Being malnourished can either be underweight or overweight. Right after birth, the mother should already feed the baby with breast milk. It is the best source of iron for infants. Hence, if the baby will continuously drink breast milk, he will grow strong and wise. Adequate amount of food should be given to him so that he will grow healthy and has the right weight. Sometimes the baby tends to cry which signals that the baby is hungry. Food shall not be given everytime, take into consideration the the schedule or right time of feeding so that the baby will not become obese. Remember not to feed him junkfood such as chips, sodas and etc.

Start the good nutrition even when the baby is still in the womb and continue until will be fully developed and have grown into a healthy living person. Bear in mind, one cannot live life to the fullest without wellness. "Health is definitely Wealth."

Dear Mr. President...

Don Lorenzo Querubin
Caoayan, Ilocos Sur
June 20, 2010

Benigno Simeon Aquino III
President of the Philippines
Office of the Malacanang

Dear Sir:

Salutations!
How are you? Congratulations on your triumph. How's the feeling of having the people entrust their votes to you? It must be overwhelming. The citizens are expecting much from you. I know you'll inherit great problems from the Arroyo Administration. One of which is the Trillions of debt of the Philippines. So how can you slowly pay for that? What are your plans and solutions for that? Another, you said you will combat corruption but we both know that it's not only one person who is corrupt but but most of the people in the government, from the highest position to the lowest. I think this is a great problem and is almost impossible to eradicate. People needs discipline and needs to think of the nation first before our own benefits. If this will happen, I know progress and development are at hand. But the million dollar question is, how can you kill corruption? There are still much problems of this country. I hope in your term, there will be progress and the economic stability of the Philippines shall be acquired.

I hope you can do your duties and responsibilities. I hope you can keep your words and live up to the expectations of the people. More power and God bless you!

p.s. Please stop smoking.
Respectfully yours,

ARMANI NATHANIEL MARTINEZ

GIBO!

Galing at Talino,,,,

Well that's GILBERT TEODORO.

His great ways of speaking and bright ideas really
amazed me.

Not a lot of politicians have GIBO's intellectual ability.
I believe he is not one who promises things which he cannot fulfill.

I know he can stand up for his words and head the INNOVATION of a greater
PHILIPPINES.

Leading is a great Duty

Leadership doesn't mean fame and making friends... That's flattery.

It's hard to be a true leader. For you to become one, you must have skills, the hardwork and the heart to serve others.

Being a leader is a great opportunity at the same time having great responsibilities.

When you enter the world of Leadership, it means service to others. It means devoting yourself for the welfare of others.

Most of the time you should set aside personal appointments and work. To be a devoted leader you must give your 100% service.

So do you dare to be a LEADER?

Learn... Experience

In every step we make, in every journey we embark,
in every moment we partake, we LEARN. We learn in every way we can.

In life, there are times we fall but that doesn't stop us from going on.
Remember, our greatest teacher is EXPERIENCE.

Always bear in mind that Learning and Experience always go hand in hand.
We become better people. We become wiser. We gain true wisdom through learning from experiences.

L-O-V-E me not

Change is the only constant thing in the world. Nothing else is, even love.

Maybe we are blinded by love. Love is not blind, we are.

When you truly feel love towards someone. You won't care about being hurt.

But what if its already too much?

Well, its already time for you to move on.

Love someone who is worth the tears. Not someone who just stares at you, broken.

Love is not constant. Let's accept that fact. ;-(
